The Great British Car Journey

The day finally arrived for the Club Triumph "Historic Counties Run 2023" which Annie, good friend Reg and I have been planning over the last few months. Classified by Motorsport UK as a navigational scatter rally and with their approval, this is a mapping, navigation and driving event over a 14 hour period from 6pm this evening. It is a complex event to explain (and arrange) but it was great to finally be happening.

We'd arranged the start location near Matlock in Derbyshire at the Great British Car Journey. This is a fabulous museum and experience centre which both tells the story of car manufacture in the UK and also gives a chance to drive some of them. We had arranged a private tour before getting dinner, after which the event began. Cars departed by 8pm at which point we (as the organising team) set off for the mid-way point where cars will be due to check in after midnight.

Here are a couple of the entrants cars.
