Happy Moments

A walk in the woods

Feeling considerably better today thank goodness. Cheered up no end by a good chat with my bestie Nicoiseannie at lunchtime.

Almost straight after son messaged to enquire how I was feeling and that turned into a FaceTime chat too, so we also caught up on news.

A couple of small 15 minute nana naps during the day, more than anything to rest my eye. Also had a phone call just before 6pm last night from the hospital to give me an appointment for Monday morning to see the consultant. He was obviously sitting there with the phone lady as I heard him answer the questions I asked of her. That’s really not bad service at all from our NHS and I realise not everyone has such good experience, but I do feel very glad for their prompt attention, as it may well have been a different sight outcome otherwise….

Just a brief overview of my day - see extra too if you can - I walked into town this morning to the farmers market, it was so busy! Bought a few bits to try, and the sausage and cranberry ‘sausage roll’ went down a treat for lunch. The iris were in the grounds of the Saltburn hotel on my home journey, an insurance blip in case the street scene wasn’t any good, but they are so pretty it seemed a shame to discard them. Then the walk in the woods turned up a small surprise, the half towards Marske was closed off due to a landslip. I wasn’t actually going that far anyway, we turn to come back across the beck and up towards home, but I’ve included it to remind me in the future.

I had thought the wild garlic might be on its way out by now, but as you can see, from the main image, it’s still flourishing.
