Margaret Thatcher 1925-2013

"Patriot Prime Minister who divided the nation"

I saw Mrs Thatcher when I was working as a volunteer at the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games in 1986. I remember two things very clearly.

1.She had enormous personal presence and charisma.

2 A large crowd of well wishers had gathered to see her alongside a handful of some twenty placard waving protesters The TV coverage of her arrival,on the news that evening, angled their coverage so that only the twenty were in shot.
