The Feast Day of Saint Venantius. 257.
It has been a gloriously warm sunny day, 23c indoors and 85c in the conservatory. I have been to see the swans on the canal, but no actual sign of the little cygnets. Three unhatched eggs were beside the mother swan as she sat on her nest, avidly preening.
I have been on a car journey with Paul this morning. He drove today for the first time since his operation.
We went to Stonehill Garden Centre to buy a few bedding plants for the front garden and chose red salvias. We had a nice browse and then bought mealworms and mixed bird seed. It was very busy at the garden centre and we fortunately found a parking space. Paul can't lift heavy things for 2 more weeks so we resisted buying big bags of multi compost.
The red salvias look beautiful in the small planted area near the pink Azalea.
Marian brought my Avon order and we had a good chat. Later I visited Lynn and she showed me how she had arranged her lovely garden now she has arthritis and needed to streamline things so there is less maintenance and watering.
The white flower in my blip collage is the first mock orange blossom flower. It smells divine, like Gardenia. I have bought several bare root perennials from Farmer Gracy online and they will get established this year and hopefully flower next year.
Thanks for visiting my site and enjoy the lovely warmth.
Steps 6600.
