Coming home

As Sod's Law would have it, this morning dawned with a clear blue sky and a bright sun - the best of the week! We drove away at 6.45 and made Douglas in good time, only to be picked for a vehicle search at the dock. We must have looked too innocent!

We set off at 8.15 in lovely sunshine - my Blip today, showing the castle on a rock in the mouth of the harbour, known as the Tower of Refuge from Shipwreck. It must have been a good place to be wrecked! My extra is the final picture from the ferry.

A calm crossing, though soon after leaving the island the mist came down and stayed with us for most of the voyage, disappearing as we approached land. We left the ship at noon, setting off for our favourite motorway services at Tebay, where we treated ourselves to lunch at the farmshop and sat out in the sun to eat.

An uneventual drive home, dropping off our daughters for train and ferry respectively and arriving home at 7.30 this evening. A wonderful week away and lots of photos to go through!

Quote of the Day: 'One small cat changes coming home to an empty house to coming home.' - Pam Brown. (or in our case, two cats!)
