No matter how much I try to tell myself they are harmless, I just can't get used to Huntsmen spiders lurking in the bathroom. They don't do any harm, are non-venemous and probably keep down the insect popul;ation, but whenever one of these the size of a small crab comes crawling out from behind something I feel very nervous.

Just convince yourself they are pets. Like you say they'll keep the insect population down.

I waited to see if he would go away but then my young daughter needed to use the bathroom. I'm sorry to say Richie, that the next blip that spider got was with a rolled up newspaper.

Yeah, they're scary - we've got some spiders that sort of size in NZ too - it's scary when it's dark and you can hear them running across the room...
