Sunday 12 February 2012: Wishful Thinking...
I felt a tiny little bit Spring like today. It was the sunshine wot did it.
I got a little thrill out of opening 3 whole windows in the flat and (wait for this...you'll never believe it)...LEAVING them open for a few hours. Fresh air! In the house! Remarkable.
We decided to treat ourselves to a bit of lunch down at Loch Fyne. They do a really nice set lunch for £10 (2 courses) and seeing as Arlo was at my Mums for the night and wasn't due back till tea time, we didn't have to do any public parenting (gritted teeth, weak threats, child having power over you due to number of people around you) or kid wrestling. We were very much looking forward to it.
Ida was a wee star the whole way through. She's a very discerning eater - she said yes to venison, unsure about olives (but still ate 4), yes to lobster bisque, no to mummy's home made pot of baby food, yes to salmon, yes to haddock and mash and YES to pear and cinnamon crumble.
Oh yes and as always happens, we didn't fancy the set menu so we went off piste (and so has the overdraft).
Set us up nicely for the week ahead. Lovely!
