I am the Photographic Director of Lakeland Photographic Holidays, and have been involved in photography for over 40 years, starting as a sports photographer, moving through gigs, theatre, architecture and commercial before finally moving to the Lake District to concentrate on landscape and nature.

As well as running photographic workshops, I write for Ephotozine, Outdoor photography, Practical Photography and Advanced Photography. I work with Lee Filters, and am the co-author of their book "Inspiring professionals" and have just finished my first solo book "Lakeland Mono". I exhibit nationally and internationally, and lecture all over the UK.

I joined blipfoto because I fancied a disciplined challenge, - although I photograph a lot, the idea of selecting ONE picture a day seemed great - especially as I take very little at the beginning of the year before our workshops start. I firmly believe that the more you take, the more you look at the world around you. I never stop learning about photography, and the ability to look at other photographers work on a daily basis is fascinating and inspiring.
