Tuesday 7 February 2012: Iced sheep

These are some of our Balck Welsh Mountain ewes showing exactly which bits of their amazing fleeces were exposed to the cold air last night. I think it must have got down to -10C, making a temperature gradient over the few centimetres of their highly insulating fleece of nearly 50 degrees.
