Thursday 19 August 2010: off they go

George's first day at school. We walked to school with the big lads, all looking very shiny, then George and I came home. He's only in for 2 hours today and he got the afternoon "shift". So after he'd changed back in to play clothes we went to East Links Family Park for a while, which was much quieter than it has been of late. A bit of trampolining and sliding, but his mind was elsewhere. As he munched an early lunch, he asked if I thought he'd get maths today. He was disappointed when I said probably not. I am looking forward to reminding him of this in years to come!

Back to school for 12 noon. And off he went with just one backwards glance and a grin.

The next chapter has begun.

  1. Aw bless! (a couple of days ago I came across an old, as in on archaic photographic paper stuff, picture of the firstborn's first day at nursery school with the boy-in-the-attic looking unbelievably grumpy in a pushchair.....thinks, must blip that the next time one of them gets too big for their boots......)

  9. That's lovely. George always looks like such a wee character, and there's more than a hint of 'Red' in his face here!
