Sunday 6 November 2011: Solitary Confinement

Another beautifully sunny (but cold) day - time for a long overdue visit to the RBGE and, despite the gardens being in their autumnal finery at this time of the year, I decided on this shot taken in the rather grandly named Alpine House (it's a glorified greenhouse). It is, however, one of my favourite haunts in the entire gardens - everything is so small, delicate and colourful.

I make no apologies for this photo - a combination of sunlight through the mesh and a liberal amount of desaturation via Photoshop created the effect ... I just wonder what this little chap (Dionysia) had been up to deserve being locked up in solitary confinement?
