Wednesday 23 May 2012: Silver Sax
A change from plant portraits and macro shots. I have been trying for a while to make a decent blip of my Silver Saxes. Tight rosettes of lime encrusted leaves produce arching sprays of commonly white flowers which waft gently in even the slightest breeze. A challenge to do justice to this plant, so often the background is hopelessly distracting. So here is a shot of the whole plant, in this case Saxifraga callosa, growing one of my troughs along with four other Silver Saxifrages and other alpines.
