Wednesday 23 May 2012: Close to the edge

A 1970's classic album by Yes.

But this is a ship. The 'Island Valiant', a deep water construction/support vessel type ship. They don't normally anchor up so close, and certainly not there. And they don't normally have a Sea King hovering above the deck. Presume it's not good news for some poor soul. I hope it was just an over cautious response and whoever it was is well again.

That was the excitement for the day. We went shopping. We were too tired to do much else. Flo, who is a bit too anxious to live with the rest of the cats in the hall and kitchen at night, spends all her time with us. She sleeps, along with Bertie, in our bedroom. Until the sun comes up, when she jumps on the bed, pillow end, and proceeds to start prodding, clawing, or gently biting us until we wake up. Then she jumps off the bed. Not quite sure what it is she's after other than attention but it's causing us both to feel exhausted all day, especially when OH is doing night shifts and early starts.

So we're rather at a loss what to do.
Do we just shut her out all night and make her more anxious?
Do we get some Feliway and try spraying around to calm her down (if it works)?
Do we sleep in the spare room so we get some sleep but go without the comforts of our own bedroom?
Or shut her in the spare room and risk the carpet being ripped up?

Answers on a postcard please. :o)
