Wednesday 18 May 2011: Finding history in Tring

My grandmother's brother, Leroy, was killed here during WWII when his plane went down returning from a mission over France. My uncle has spent years researching his uncle and the events of the crash. We were able to visit the crash site today and talk with some wonderful people, a man who remembered the event from when he was a child, a man who has been researching the history of the site, and a man from the National Trust site who was kind enough to give us a personal tour of the site and the beautiful estate surrounding the site.
