Thursday 24 May 2012: a car in the wall and giant lobster......
ok well maybe not quite a 'giant' lobster but had to get you to look....
sooooo went to butterfly world today with my friend and found they have these unusual gardens and walk ways and walls - it was rather like the chelsea flower show!!.........and built into the wall they had put cards/bottles/clarinets and all sorts - even books - all to entice butterflies (well that's what we think as lots of nooks and crannies to hide in) all in all it was rather unusual and superb in fact!
by end of autumn the gigantic dome will be finished and hertfordshire will soon have it's very own eden like project - it is a huge long term goal and the whole place is still in its infancy - although they have made superb toilets rather like bee hive huts!
they really do have a vision for this place and some critics are rather unkind but overall a superb idea. i will definitely go back to see the dome......
the butterflies themselves are kept in a hot house and are rather on the small side- (hard to compare with ones saw in thailand) however when one lands on you everyone rushes to photograph you - there is a definite comedy aspect to this....people fell over themselves to photograph one small black and white butterfly sitting on a man's head (he he) i photographed him in the fever of the moment and there wasn't even one on his head by then.....!
anyway overall it was not what i was expecting but does make a lovely outing.
