About be@nz
Being be -
An average but keen photographer who is always looking to learn something new.
Photography has opened my eyes to a huge new world,
- best thing is being outside, exploring the world, seeing and shooting life - especially nature (flowers, foliage and skies!!)
Mainly use my 50mm, or lensbaby composer,
- enjoy the challenge of composing an image with my feet instead of a zoom
- generally like "less is best" for camera kit, composition and editing.
Use a Canon 1000D because it is very light and easy to carry, and occasionally a Panasonic Lumix TZ3 for landscapes or when travelling.
Update - after 500 blips this must be overdue :-)
After significant encouragement from s2, son number three, I tentatively started to post a few photos. Within a week I was hooked, but I never imagined that I would take a photo a day, for over 500 days, and post one on blip almost everyday, then still be enthusiastic and motivated to explore the wonderful world of photography.
Achieving at least that one goal, every day, gives me huge satisfaction, and many days it motivates me to go out and to find something interesting, exciting, or creative. Very few of my photos are "winners", although I think there is the odd gem amongst them. Most important for me is that I enjoy using my camera everyday, I enjoy learning to create images both in the camera and in the computer, I enjoy seeing other blippers images from which I can learn a lot, and blip has become an important link with all my boys and their families in the UK
My original "being be" still applies, and 'light and easy to carry' are a priority for my camera kit. I have added a 24mm lens, the telefoto, super wide angle and macro accessories for my lensbaby, a reversing ring for macro work, a canon ixus 100 for a "carry everywhere" point and shoot .......... and a tripod (which I must use more often!!).
My blip journey this far has been a steep learning curve, and an enjoyable adventure .......... I wonder what I might achieve in my next 500 blips ???
