Freyja, Rock and Pond.
It was 21C today -- breaking all records for November in Ottawa. The wind was warm, like a blast furnace; so strange! I made the most of the beautiful weather by spending it with Freyja and Hnokki.
Freyja came galloping from the far field when I called -- how sweet! -- and I took her for a graze-walk. I also did the hind end Bowen manoeuvres that are supposed to help with stifle issues; her reaction was much worse than last week. Threatening to kick as I gently put my fingers in the (obviously) correct places. Even with a carrot and apple distraction, she danced around and often poised to strike; I'm obviously targetting the right areas, but yikes! Might need to ask a professional about this...
Next I de-burred Hnokki, who had a crown of weeds between his ears. And, out of curiousity, did the Bowen techniques on him. He would cock his hoof on the side I was working on, relaxing it in advance. Obviously it is a pleasant experience if those parts aren't sore. Very instructive...
