Having arrived at a year's worth of consecutive posts, it feels like the right time to tidy up around here -- doing away with the bare-bones, and not sending those who want deep-dish on a hunt for more!
So, it's still true that taking photographs stirs up the good things in my head and pleases me -- immensely so. Only now there is an added depth, a palpable difference, thanks to being part of this excellent community.
Cultivating the daily ritual of observing has caused a delightful upheaval in perspective for me. In how I look at things, what I see, and the way I take photographs. Despite the fact that I've (still!) not finished reading my camera manual or learned very much about "the rules". Taking so many photographs, "seeing" photographs everywhere without my camera, playing with editing software -- all of these have undoubtedly contributed. But I'm not convinced that's all. Part of this qualitiative shift I'm experiencing has to do with savouring as many blipfoto images that each day will permit -- a ready-made pool of mentors that have delighted my senses and taught me so much. You may not all know who you are; I try to tell as many of you as I can!
Something else that's been most remarkable is that the time to photograph and to be around horses has converged during my first blipfoto year. I delight in being a sort of "horse fix" for folks -- so unexpected and wonderful, both!
