This Week in Blipfoto... win a Tough camera

13th January 2012

Hudson's Bay, Canada, North pole, The world over

There's only one week to go... And counting... Really. That's all the time that's left, if you're still to take part in our film project, The World Over.

The World Over has captured the imagination of thousands of Blippers across the world.

But given that there's now just one week left to "star" in the film, we're giving you an added incentive (as if you needed one).

For the final week of our project we have a brilliant - and rather appropriate (given that we in Scotland are made from girders) - Olympus Tough TG-610 camera (worth over £200) to give away to the best The World Over shot submitted over the next 7 days.

The Tough TG-610 is sturdy, waterproof and comes complete with a 3D shooting mode.

So, get this... as well as starring in a film that will be seen around the world, getting a rolling credit for your shot and taking part in a fantastic project that shows the reach of the Blip community, you could also be the proud owner of a very tough wee camera indeed.

But what will we judge as the best shot?

Well, an iconic backdrop would be a start.

Framed properly would be a given.

And having fun is a must.

Remember to upload it via The World Over microsite (and, as ever, it counts as your Blip for the day - although you can do one a day, if you so want...). Good luck.

The film will premier on Burns Night, 25th January.

As part of the launch we may host a party for Blippers at Inspace, Edinburgh with a bit of Burn's Night feel. But, we're still not sure... So, help us decide. To party or not to party, that is the question. Would you like to attend? If so can you add your name to this thread. If we get enough interest we'll go for it.

So, with one final rallying cry, charge...

Staff Picks

A striking portrait. The dull yellows in his beard merging into the bright yellow jacket; the scowl; the windswept hair. He might remind you of a leading man in Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea. I bet he's got some great stories to tell himself.

Portrait of bearded man, yellow jacket, white-yellow-stained beard,

View this shot large for the best effect - to see the sparkling sun in the shallow sea, the glimmering sands and the gentle mists that could almost have evaporated from the tired horses in the distance.

Moody black and white beach, horses in the distance

Lots of scooters. Not quite a scene from Quadrophenia, but a nod in its direction.

A mass of riders on Mopeheads and scooters in UK street

This Finnish scene screams of serenity. The wispy branches laden heavy with snow, not a print on the ground around the church. Whiteness, everywhere.

A snow-covered church and tree, white, scerene, calm,
