This week in Blipfoto: Something to Crowe about...
27th January 2012
Sometimes when you're looking for inspiration, the best place to look is up...
That was certainly the case for a handful of home-grown Blippers this week, at least.
The flash (or should that be "shimmering") of inspiration came in the form of a very southerly Aurora Borealis. Causing much excitement amongst the good folk of Southern Scotland and Northern England not used to such a show, the clear night sky (also unusual) was the perfect canvas.
It's almost unheard of to capture such a display so far south, so the Blips taken of this beautiful phenomenon were in demand.
The stars were looking on. A-list stars, that is... Amongst those to admire the pictures from Blip was Gladiator star Russell Crowe. East Lothian-based Dougiebuster's Blip was shared by the Hollywood mega star - and, as a result, thousands of others around the world.
But he wasn't the only one to get the star treatment. Blippers Bri and Delphwynd also enjoyed wide acclaim...
Still, for some, these pretty lights are a common occurrence and don't see what all the fuss is about!

The harsh light is cast on the restoration work at Boston museum of Fine Arts. This job looks painstaking. But the rewards will be huge.
