This week in Blipfoto - Traffic stopping, stop motion film
3rd February 2012
So, have you picked out your red carpet outfit yet?
We have. Shunning the designer labels and black tie norm, we've opted for a warm jacket and boots combo. Double-socking, of course.
In case you hadn't heard, our short film The World Over is getting its official "red carpet" premiere at the weekend (Sunday 5th February) in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
In Edinburgh, the film will be shown (at 2pm) on the BBC Screen at Festival Square. The band Clanadonia, who provided the soundtrack to the film, will also be playing live... Get there early for a great photo opp!
In Glasgow, there will be two screenings as part of Celtic Connections. The film will be projected onto the side of Buchanan Galleries (next to the statue of Donald Dewar) at 7pm and 9.30pm...
It looks like it could turn into an impromptu Blip Meet, so we hope Blippers close by can make it along. Remember and bring your camera (as if you'd forget?)!
However, if you starred in the film and you can't be there (given the fact that Blippers from 32 countries around the world were featured, that will be quite a lot of you!) you can arrange your own viewing... Just get in touch and we'll give you the tools to help.
Thanks once again to all the Blippers who helped make the film. You've done us proud.
Staff Picks
The low sunlight in Mammoth accentuates the spray from the silhouetted skiers and snowboarders as they carve their way down the slopes.
The last smoker? A re-enactment of one of the most famous paintings. They certainly had an obvious choice for the central character. I wonder what the occasion was?
Have you ever wondered what the view from the edge of the world might look like? Eternally swirling plastic bags being snagged on rusted barbed wire. That's what I think... Or is that the end of the world?
The first day at school. The nerves, the isolation, the trepidation. And, for us, the nostalgia (be it our own or rekindling memories of our kids). This wee chap in Holland seems to be taking it all in his stride.
10 metres 'til impact... and getting there fast. Despite the open-mouthed horror, he looks perfectly in control.
