The Photographers' Gallery reopens after transformation
18th May 2012
A new home for international and British photography is set to open tomorrow in London tomorrow.
The Photographers' Gallery (Ramillies Street) has been transformed by Irish architects O'Donnell + Tuomey. The building now features three floors of gallery spaces. The 100% increase in exhibition space will allow the Gallery to showcase established and high-profile artists alongside emerging photographic talent from around the world.
Situated between two of the exhibition floors is the Studio. This will host a range of talks, events, workshops and courses as well as a camera obscura, the Study Room, and Touchstone - a changing display of a single photographic work.
A new meeting space, including a bookshop, print sales room and cafe, has been created at street level.
