A shot at Glory: Your chance to become an accredited sports photographer
23rd May 2012
Do you want to win something really cool? Something money can't buy? Well, we've teamed up with UK Athletics to give you the chance to become an accredited photographer at the Aviva 2012 Trials in June.
But the deadline is approaching fast... The deadline to enter is the 25th May. Friday...
We want you to capture the drama of Olympic selection in a new and creative way, so one lucky Blipper will win a money-can't-buy opportunity to be there at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium (including UK mainland travel), as over 750 of Britain's best athletes go head-to-head for a place on the British team this summer. The runner up will win an Olypmus Tough TG-610 camera and a third prize winner will receive signed UK Athletics kit.
It's easy to take part... We're looking for action shots that reflect British athletes' dedication to their sport - shots must depict passion, desire and the sheer determination to succeed.
But it's not just athletes that can have these attributes. So, it could be the passion to win captured in another sport. It could be the determination of your child as they take their first steps. It might even be something completely different that you have dedicated your time to succeeding in. What it must do, however, is capture movement as well as determination...
In short, we want pictures that:
- Capture a sense of movement
- Depict action
- Show a sense of determination to succeed
To enter all you have to do is join the competition's UK Athletics Group and make sure you submit your relevant pictures to the group. Easy.
It's also easy to enter existing Blips that you think make the grade. Again, just join the UK Athletics Group. Then you can add your photo by clicking the "Group Settings" icon. Simple.
The competition runs from 30 April to 25 May. So be quick, you don't have long...
And good luck.
