This Week in Blipfoto - Fame at last
1st June 2012
This week, we've been readying to launch another great (big) project. This time it's with the help of some famous names that you might just know.
And we're bursting to tell you more. Really, we are. But we can't.
Not just yet, anyway. So you'll just have to cool your heels and wait for another fortnight or so before we can make it official.
It's going to be fun, though.
Meanwhile, talking of fun... Blipfoto founder Joe was on the radio just this afternoon talking about all things Blip. And, erm, sharing his love for George Formby with the world.
We offered a Blipfoto T-shirt (one of our favourite "Blippers do it once a day" Ts) as a prize for the best question that was submitted to the station for Joe. The winner came from Shane - a Blipper from New Zealand who now lives in England. The T-shirt will be winging its way to you shortly, Shane.
Staff Picks
A poignant and beautiful photo of Memorial Day from Boston. 33,000 flags planted for the Massachusetts war dead.
This cat in Tokyo looks particularly in demand. Feline fame? Or is there another story behind this very popular puss? We wonder?
Not your usual image from Manhattan, but the lazy light seems to capture the city that never sleeps ready for bed.
The seadog and the wagtail... A charming photograph from the Great British coast. And a great juxtaposition of size.
A lovely shot of a young couple relaxing in Grand Central, still in their party clothes in the early morning rush hour.
The city lights of Christchurch look beautiful from up here... Even more magical when you half shut your eyes and they all go out of focus.
We've started to keep a "Collection" of Staff Picks. Take a peek, there have been a few beauties of late.
