This week in Blipfoto - Your chance to be the paparazzi
22nd June 2012
We've been restlessly sitting on an exciting new Blip project for a while now. But with the i's finally dotted and with the t's getting crossed, it's starting to grow a bit uncomfortable to sit on any longer.
So we're going to let a bit out...
On Wednesday (27th June) we are holding a press call in Edinburgh. Helping us launch the project will be renowned author Ian Rankin.
But we've reserved space for a click of Blippers (is that an appropriate term for a group?) to attend too.
The press photographers will be there, but we want to create a real buzz and create our own Bliparazzi.
So, if you are in Edinburgh on Wednesday, come along and be among the first to find out what our plans are as we launch this exciting new project at Creative Scotland's HQ (Waverley Gate, 11am-12). And get a great Blip opportunity to-boot.
In fact, the best Blip of Ian on the day will also win a hardback copy of Rankin's new book - The Impossible Dead. We'll even try and get it signed.
So, if you want to be part of the Bliparazzi, be on the steps outside Waverley Gate from 11.30am on Wednesday.
We'll also select five lucky Blippers to come with us to the roof terrace at Creative Scotland HQ for a more 'intimate' photo-op.
Leave a comment below if you're coming along and we'll select the names for the "intimate" shoot from our trusty cycle helmet again.
We can't wait...
UPDATE: We have now drawn the five Blippers. They have been emailed and invited to the roof...
Blip Gossip
Many Blippers will have stumbled across the brilliant images and stories of Blowfishmouth - a bearded, tattooed, (and did we mention handsome?) bicycle-riding Texan.
Well, this week Blowfish launched his first ever exhibition of images in his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas.
Find out more about his show and see the work.

Don't jump. Don't know why this snail is so depressed - it looks beautiful to us.
Winter is really starting to set in in parts of the Southern Hemisphere. This serenely chilly shot from Wanaka, New Zealand captures the winter colours perfectly.
A moment of contemplation amid the busy streets on Bangkok? Or maybe he's just trying to send a text message like the rest of us?
This gentleman in Glasgow looks like he means business. In more ways than one. We love the cut of his suit. And the sharp pinstripe lines.
A beautiful portrait of a Newfoundland dog. With eyes like that, who needs giant paws?
This shot just draws us in. The construction of the oldest tunnel in the Netherlands (under the River 'Nieuwe Maas') started in 1937. When the historic city centre of Rotterdam was wiped flat in World War II, the tunnel was spared and completed during the Nazi occupation. On the 14th of February 1942 there was a secret opening ceremony without Nazi participation. These days, the cycle tunnel is accessed by long and quite scarily steep escalators.
