Our Digital Planet - win £500 worth of photography equipment

The internet is amazing. It has the potential to make a positive difference to our own lives, the lives of those around us and the world we live in too. So what does the internet mean to you? And what difference has it made to your life?

Well, that is the focus in our latest competition - Our Digital Planet.

Blipfoto is working with charity Nominet Trust to demonstrate to the almost 9 million people in the UK who have yet to experience the internet the huge difference it can make to our lives.

For the chance to win over 500 pounds worth of digital photography equipment, we're looking to find your digital photos that show the impact the internet has had on your life!

Has the internet saved you money, helped you to discover new interests or re-connect with old friends? Maybe you've set up your own online business or developed new skills? Perhaps it's given you an active voice on an issue that you're passionate about or introduced you to a new community that offers friendship, support and advice? Upload your images to the Our Digital Planet group to take part.

As well as the chance to win a great new camera, a selection of the best photos will also take centre stage in the Our Digital Planet outdoor exhibition that Nominet will be taking on tour around the UK later this summer.

How to enter

As ever, you'll be pleased to know that anyone can enter, and it's really easy. Simply join the Our Digital Planet Group on Blipfoto and upload your photo to it with a brief explanation that explains how it represents the impact the internet has had on your life. Or you can select a relevant image from your existing Blipfoto journal and add it to the Our Digital Planet Group.

Entry to the competition closes on 3rd August 2012

You are also encouraged to vote to help decide the winner and which pictures will be included in an exhibition that will tour 6 UK city centres. A final list, decided by this voting, will then be debated by our judges.

Our Digital Planet will be touring across the UK, starting in Brighton on 16th August 2012. The final tour schedule is still to be confirmed, but to see if and when we might be coming to a city near you, visit ourdigitalplanet.co.uk
