This week in Blipfoto: Going out with a Bang!

24th August 2012

When we launched the tag Blipthefestivals for 2012, we promised that your photos of the world-famous Edinburgh Festival could win some amazing, money-can't-buy prizes.

Well, earlier this week, four lucky Blippers who shared their photos with the Blipthefestivals tag found themselves being whisked off for a very special evening at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Trixtaphoto, Boyinthecorner, SpeckledCoast, and Lesault were invited to the iconic castle esplanade to gain exclusive, behind-the-scenes access, which included getting up close and personal with the performers and some great hints and tips from the Tattoo's official photographer.

In fact, two of the Blippers were also treated to a very special audience with one of the, erm, dignitaries attending the show on Wednesday night - a closed photo shoot with none other than David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff - as a little surprise bonus.

A big thanks goes out to our friends at Edinburgh Festivals for organising this amazing prize and a big shout out to Alan Smith at the Tattoo for treating the Blippers like the VIPs they are!

Do you want to be an intern at Blipfoto?

Today we are sad. Our intern Ryan is set to leave us. After a year of unwavering hard graft, unpalatable culinary stories and unintelligible west coast patter, we're going to find it very hard to replace him. He had very big shoes too. And you had to admire a man that has Spaghetti hoops for lunch.

So, if you are aren't afraid of a challenge, have a great work ethic, are currently doing a media, PR or marketing qualification and want to get loads of hands-on experience, why not get in touch. If you think you can fill Ryan's size 12's, drop us a line - we'd love to hear from you. (A questionable taste in food is optional).

When you're young, you're indestructible. A graze on the knee is nothing. In fact, it's a badge of honour. A nostalgia of childhood pours back.

Clenched rain fists in Florida's afternoon sky... Did you know that Florida is often referred to as the Lightening Capital of the world? - Rwanda actually holds that dubious honour, though, with 2 and a half times the number of strikes...
