This week in Blipfoto - A beautiful over-view
22nd February 2013
This week we don't have any grand announcements to make. No amazing new iPad apps to launch. That's so last week.
But, just in case you missed it.... We do have a beautiful new iPad App that's just been released. We'd recommend that you go and check it out.
It sits perfectly alongside the gorgeous new iPhone App that we recently launched. (You knew about that one, right?)
Both are free to download from the App Store. And if you like what you see, please leave us lots of stars and a lovely review!
We do have some big announcements to make though, so get your diary out.
Next week the Lovers of Light competition closes (Thursday 28th Feb). We've had an amazing response to this competition, with thousands of entries already received. We will be using a hand-picked selection of these images to create a beautiful short film and one lucky winner will enjoy a trip of a lifetime to the Swedish Arctic Circle to stay in the uber-cool TreeHotel. Find out more here.
Blips From the Edge
Earlier this week we launched a new mini-series on the Blip Blog - 'Blips From the Edge' - where we focus in on some of the Blippers in the farthest-flung corners of the planet. We kicked it off by catching up with our man in Afghanistan - AirborneSkyGod.
London Fashion Weekend
We also have a group of Blippers who will be heading along to London Fashion Weekend tomorrow (Saturday), with exclusive photography passes for Somerset House thanks to our friends at Calumet at Canon. We hope to share their experience with you soon. Keep your eye on the Blip Blog for future events, opportunities and prizes.
Staff Picks
Just enjoying the view. Check out the untied shoelace. Notice the loose swing in the leg. Remember that time, when you were young and carefree? Good days.
An unusual portrait. All fired-up and ready to conquer the mountain.
The bridge to nowhere. From wires and girders to nothing but cloud.
Little balls of colour peering through the white mist. A serene coastal scene.
The changing of tides, the sweeping sands and an angry sky all help create a sense of foreboding in this wild beach shot.
Boys will be boys... They'll try and make a splash everywhere they go, egged on by their cohorts. We love the fun and energy of this shot.
