Wednesday 7 September 2011: Shepherd's Delight

Smoking a contemplative cigarette on the back deck just before dinner, I noticed the pink clouds as the sun began to set. The front of the house affords a better view of the sunset and did I get a shock when I walked round. The sky just begged to be photographed. I just hoped the light did not change too much while I went to fetch my camera.

With camera in hand, the sky was pretty much as it was before -- a spectacular sight. I don't think a B&W conversion would have done it full justice. :-)

I took shepherd's delight, the British version of "red sky at night" rather than the American "sailor's delight". I hope I am forgiven by my American readers. :-)
