Saturday 18 May 2013: Flooded!

If I were to put up my photo about the most memorable bit tof today it would be horrible!

As we left the house in the rain we could tell by the water rushing along the gutter that things would not be good. The Man and I had no choice but to go and clean the holiday lodge ready for the next visitors. When we returned we could see from the road that out garden had been completely covered in water.

We went up the path and saw our patio covered in a layer of mud, not a pretty sight. #1 Daughter's friend had taken a shot from her bedroom window and sent it to her! She passed it on to us. Just as we had imagined, muddy water everywhere!

The force of the water was such that a big bag of compost was moved 2 metres across the garden!

This is nothing new, we have suffered this before but what makes it worse is that our neighbour is building a wall to protect his property so even more flood water will be diverted our way next time.

For a bit of light relief I planted out The Mother's pansies and nasturtiums. Lots of friendly little faces greeting her as she opens her curtains each day!
