Sheeting Rain

I approach the quay, headlights on full. I don't want to drive into the sea.

The waves are breaking dramatically as I had hoped, but leaving the car with the camera to shoot them is not an appealing prospect. It's raining a lot.

Out on the Forth, the rain is worse. I can see the gusting wind throwing it at the bridge in huge ethereal sheets. The floodlights highlight each new assult just before impact.

I place the camera on the dashboard and turn the interior lights off. There are no reflections on the glass, and with the wipers going full tilt the rain doesn't corrupt the image. The exposure is too long for the wipers to show.

I'm glad to be in my car with the heater on. I'm wishing I wasn't booked on a Ghost Walk in South Queensferry in half an hour though...
