Monday 10 November 2008: Canyon

Canyon is one of the internationally renowned sites at Dahab. The seabed at about 20m is split by a chasm, leading down through a crack to a couple of chmbers below at 33m or so - which is about as deep as most recreational divers go. You can continue down a tunnel which comes out at 55m, but a dive like this (deep and in an overhead environment) is a pretty serious undertaking and is well beyond my training.
The structure of the canyon is fascinating but looking back up into bright blue water at bubbles, fish and other divers descending is the real spectacle for me.
