Friday 12 October 2007: Western Electric Telephone - From 1955

This telephone was made in the USA by Western Electric in 1955. I just recently restored this very collectible telephone. When colored telephone sets first came into being they had not yet perfected making the matching colored cords. The cords that were installed were "neutral gray". Although gray coiled (curly) cords were available many had these straight cords--adding to today's value of the phones. The center dial card is an original and reads TEnnyson5-1126. Fifty-two years later it is still working perfectly with a very loud ring produced by dual harmonic brass gongs. Thanks for looking at this wonderful piece of American history!
