Saturday 4 December 2010: to come back to

It's sad posting this picture today because, despite having been far too busy for blipfoto lately, I've always liked the fact that I knew I had somewhere to come back to. After all that has happened with Matt today, it would not feel right to continue to participate in the site when, because of such an abrupt decision, he is no longer able to do the same. I know I did not participate a fraction of how much he did, and after giving so much to the community, I am so disappointed in the way things have turned out, with such little forgiveness for one mistake.

You are all wonderful people - always willing to share kind words, to share your lives, and today, such sweet and thoughtful comments about Matt - and I want to thank you for that.

I will continue to post on Flickr and JPG and would love to see some of you there.

I leave you with the face of a man who smiled so genuinely at me this morning as I walked down Mu'iz Street with Matt, and finally, after two weeks of being back in Cairo, I felt that I was home.
