Thursday 18 March 2010: Outside
I've become conscious (through this medium, funnily enough) that the deadening yet comforting blanket of agrophobia is threatening to envelope me.
I haven't been out, just for the joy of being out, for too long. I force myself out to keep to an appointment or engagement, then hurry back home as fast as I can. I am spending too much time sleeping: early to bed, late up and increasingly long naps during the day.
I'm not sure how much of this is a reaction to stress, withdrawal from Venlafaxine or it might just be a virus - I've lost the ability to differentiate: I just know I feel dreadful and that my world is getting smaller.
So, I forced myself out. Betty practically peed herself with the excitement of it all and we had a bracing walk on the top of the quarry overlooking Melrose and the big world beyond - and then back to the comfort of a cup of tea, my netbook and my books.
One step at a time...

Betty looks like she's having a great time. Hopefully you enjoyed it too.

Betty certainly looks to be enjoying herself, and I hope you did too. There is a real sense of personality that comes through your writing so keep hold of that, and keep making those small steps.
