Wednesday 1 September 2010: New apartment
We moved into our new apartment today. Our internet is getting installed on Friday so I'm writing this using an unsecured wireless network. ssh.
Our new pad is in a hotel which is quite cool, all be it slightly Alan Partridge. For some unbeknown reason, the hotel sold out a private apartment to our landlord, who in turn rents it out us. It's still on the downtown side of Vancouver, over looking Granville market and 5 minutes from the beach. It is slightly longer to get to work, but only by about 15 minutes walking.
It is perfect. I love the view from our balcony. It's facing in the right direction for sunshine all day, and in winter we may even get a sunset if it's not raining.
We went to buy some new items for the flat today. Who knew bed lining was so expensive?
Interestingly enough, my photo from exactly a month ago was taken on the bridge seen in this photo, looking towards our new apartment.
