Parasurfer

No, I'm not in Barcelona yet -- this is Dublin!

Things didn't go so well last night with work, so I gave up at 3.30 am and was feeling more than a little concerned when I turned to the job again at 9.00. Things began to come together, I had a few ideas turning around in my head, and I decided I deserved a break and should go to the Music Group session after all. I'm glad I did. Not only was it a wonderful session musically, but a design idea hit me out of the blue in the middle of it. Today's host lives in Clontarf, close to the Bull Island and Dollymount Strand. The weather had been weird and changeable in the extreme earlier on, but it had settled down when we broke up and I decided I could afford fifteen minutes or so at the beach, just to see if anything blippable was happening.

It was. The tide was right, the wind was strong. All in all, conditions were just right for the parasurfers (if that's what they're called), and they were out in force. I only stayed for twenty minutes, but they were twenty wonderful minutes. I took about forty shots, of which half a dozen or so were okay and this one was the undoubted pick of the bunch. I came home elated, nicely refreshed, and ready to tackle the job again and get it to a stage tonight at which I can pass it on to the client with some confidence.

The flight to Barcelona is at 7.00 am tomorrow (which is really 6.00 because of the time change). I've already organised a taxi for an hour and a half before departure, so there's hardly any point going to bed. Sleep may well creep up on me during the flight, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bit of a siesta moment tomorrow afternoon before we catch the late-afternoon/early-evening train to Sitges to meet up with our friends there. Life is good. Busy, but good.
