Tuesday 1 March 2011: Demolishing "The Slab"
Red Road flats, Glasgow. Constructed 1964 - 1969.
There are 8 blocks in total. 2 of them, including the one above, are 32 storeys high and 100 meters wide. They are huge!! They were the tallest in Europe when constructed.
After the initial enthusiasm and optimism by the new residents you can imagine their rapid decline resulting in the current demolition project that is planned to take 10 years...
