Tuesday 29 January 2008: Kierans Own Cake Design...
My youngest son Kieran made some bakewell cakes at school yesterday, made to their own design. They made half of them yesterday and they had to freeze them until next week to finish them off. Kieran said they didnt turn out very well.
He decided to make some when he got home from school yesterday.
They are so yummy. They are made of a pastry base with jam inside, when they were cooked and cooled he then added a butter cream which was topped with melted chocolate and 100s and 1000s.
I didnt like the sound of them, but I must say all the tastes work well together . They are delicious.
Here is the recipe for Kierans cake.
200grams of plain flour
100 grams of butter
water to make a pastry
make as a jam tart, then let stand to cool.
Toppings/ butter cream
100 grams of icing sugar
50 grams of butter
mix until creamy add to cooled jam tarts
add chocolate on top of the butter cream then sprinkle with 100s and 1000s of yummys, haha.
Well Done Kieran
