Friday 4 March 2011: Escalator

This blip is of the escalators at the north end of the Pedestrian Tyne Tunnel, it was opened in 1951 and is a grade two listed building.

I have used the Tunnel since childhood, it being the only pedestrian crossing of the river Tyne to the east of the Millenium Bridge in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Whilst I was taking photographs three little Hoodies, set off the fire alarms trapping me inside the Tunnel.
