New dawn in Christchurch - sunflower looking for t

Sunflower facing the light at dawn. The sunflowers keep the garden bright and attract the birds - the greenfinches are very busy. We used to have chaffinches as well but not any more, don't know where they've gone. The goldfinches have gone too.

I love the way the sunflowers follow the sun through the day - don't know how they know to turn and face the east again though after facing west in the evening.

Some seem to do it more than others, maybe it depends where they are planted.
