Saturday 5 March 2011: Gull
Went to Nelson today and took a drive out to the start of the boulder bank. There were a lot of birds about; swans, gulls, pied stilts, pied plovers, oystercatchers and probably others that I didn't recognise. There were a lot of these brown gulls (skuas?) on the estuary and every now and then one would take to the air and head off up the coast.
Busy day in Nelson buying stuff I didn't need. Always so satisfying to do.
