Friday 4 March 2011: National Treasure #worldbooknight
Friday 4th March 2011, launch of the World Book Night. This is Alan Bennett, an official national treasure! At the end of his reading he made a simple statement
"Closing libraries is child abuse."
Boris Johnson came on later, said something banal, read something, I didn't listen. He certainly didn't say anything about protecting libraries.
