Sunday 6 March 2011: Autumn

It really did feel like Autumn today. The weather very unsettled, we woke to heavy rain, then blue sky and a tiny bit of sun, more rain and thunderous clouds, sun, rain, wind and only a temperature now of 11C.

I went out for a short while and found a sheltered spot with the sun on my back, it felt so nice and warm. It was peaceful and quite refreshing to be out.
I like the colours behind the ToiToi reminding me that Autumn is here.

On another note it was less than peaceful last night with 7 aftershocks being recorded. I felt the first one at 7.34pm being a 4.8 but our Christchurch blippers had a very uncomfortable night with the aftershocks, heavy rain, cold temperatures and surface flooding in some areas. It would've be plain miserable for those with damaged homes, no power and having to visit their gardens during the night - just hope Autumn is gentle with us, warm would be good till we get back on our feet.
