The Book ii

A little bit of reading tranquility, with a contented tongue.

Thanks for all your comments to yesterday's and FB messages re Reu. I feel very bad they didn't get a room out of ER till 3am. As wonderful as the UCLA hospital is, the common understanding is that with each patient room being private, there just aren't enough beds.

Reu's had a better night, hard to imagine with the assault of fluorescent lighting and the cacophony of alarms that characterises the ER. His lung's definitely cloudy meaning pneumonia, but hopefully it's been caught early enough. Wait for the Drs arrival and the path for the day becomes clearer, slowly moving ahead at a snail's pace.

I stayed up late trying to clear the backlog of home mess. It's truly on another level and will take more than one late night. Callum slept in with me as otherwise he would have been on the other side of the house and upstairs by himself (well, that's my excuse for a night of cuddling). And after a mammoth nap-turned 15hr sleep, he woke me up talking about Diesel. And what is almost unheard of due to our responsibilities for school or medical in the mornings, we stayed in bed for an hour reading book after book after book, with the milkies and gone-cold tea beside us.

And Amazon-imported real (aka no HFCS) Heinz baked beans on toast for breakfast.
