Sgwarnog: In the Field

Ilkley Moor

Today was one of the days that are more of spring than of winter, so we popped over the other side of the moor to Ilkley for a short family walk. From the Darwin Gardens, we headed up to White Wells Spa, pausing to throw coins in the bath, and then across to Ilkley Tarn, before heading back to the maze at Millennium Green. This was a walk paced for a 3yo, and she did well.

This smaller tarn is between White Wells and the Tarn proper. It is a secluded spot, and on other visits has provided shelter from the wind whipping in off the moor. 6yo and I did a quick circumnavigation, and I manged to hop over to one of the islands. There was one solitary mallard in residence here, unlike the feeding frenzy that greeted us at the Tarn. I did nearly go for lovely Mallard pair at the Tarn, for today's blip - but settled for something which captured the feel of the day a bit more.

You can spot all the rest of the members of my family on this shot, if you are eagle eyed.
