Sunday 6 March 2011: Message From The Pulpit
I've made a few references to the closure of my church in favour of another, a decision which, in many respects, several of us consider utmost folly.
One of the more painful aspects is the notable absence of artefacts from our church on display or in use Sunday by Sunday. However, 3 weeks ago this pulpit fall appeared on the platform.
It was made by K, a church member, for the Centenary celebration of our church building in 2001, it was intended there would be 100 sections, one for each year, with the cross uniting them all. I also see it as though we are speeding into the future with the cross standing between us and the unknown.
Sadly, K is one of the many members who now worship elsewhere. I haven't ruled out joining them.
