Wednesday 9 March 2011: Stormy Sea and Holburn Head Lighthouse

Woke up to 2 inches of snow this morning and skidded along the road to school today on the hailstones. Bitterly cold all day with a strong north westerly wind whipping up huge waves out in the Pentland Firth. Quick foray down to the beach after work to blip some waves but I needed to keep my big thick gloves on when using the camera or my fingers might have fallen off with frostbite!

Most of the snow gone by late afternoon but if you look in large you will see some on the hill behind the lighthouse.
