Thursday 10 March 2011: Good sport
Today was Purple Day - staff and students all wore purple clothes to raise money for the Haiti earthquake. The charity was set up by a Nelson woman who's husband and two of her children died in the Haiti earthquake last year. The surviving daughter who was 2 at the time (or thereabouts) wanted purple iced cupcakes or something so purple day was born.
The student council also decided to make, ice and sell purple cupcakes (last nights reference)
P-Day was awesome - least number of kids we had ever who didn't dress up. Some fab outfits most of which I can't show cos they have kids faces in. Instead this is Sarah, one of our gamer teachers. She's a dab hand with the face paint :-)
In a school with just a 130 ish pupils we raised over $260
