Friday 11 March 2011: Thief!!
My little birds are very well treated and enjoy the full service of mixed seeds, peanuts and fat balls. The fat balls have been disappearing at daily rate rather to my surprise. Today I found out why. Gazing out of the kitchen window I saw this handsome raven(?) and its mate working out their strategy. This chap leapt up onto the fat ball, jumped up and down on it until it fell off, whereupon his mate picked it up and ran (really) up the hill, where they took it in turns to attack it. The other little birds looked on in amazement. Ravens (or is he a jackdaw?) are such handsome birds - so huge and glossy with massive beaks and obviously highly intelligent.
Other than that, its Wwoof newsletter time - lots of editing required by me. Nearly all articles are in now at least.
We went to see the Adjustment bureau last night. Nothing like Inception! Highly enjoyable bit of escapism with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in good form. Have a good weekend everyone :))
Edit: ok, he's a crow - somehow ravens/ jackdaws sound a bit more exotic! Still he is a very handsome crow!
